you can do!I didn’t always love math. My middle school years were clouded with struggle and a lack of confidence that I could succeed in school. When Algebra was introduced, I was sure I could never learn it. Thankfully, I found a wonderful tutor - my grandfather. He was a hard working,weather-worn farmer who had a passion for numbers and Algebra. He helped me see that Algebra was really just a big puzzle. With his help and a couple of great teachers, I was able toovercome my negative feelings and find success.
I am currently in my eighth year of teaching 7th and 8th Grade math. I love finding differentways for my students to experience the math we are learning and helping them understand newconcepts.
My tutoring experience ranges from upper elementary grades through College Algebra.
I have a long history of teaching. It started at age 15, when I certified through the American Red Cross to be a Water Safety Instructor. I worked at swimming pools: teaching lessons, life guarding, and coaching swim teams through young adult life.
I taught kindergarten at a small private school when my children were younger. Our curriculum had a strong phonics base and we worked a lot with number sense.
As my children grew, I worked for the local 4H office, coordinating an elementary mentor-based after school program. I would match college-aged students with elementary school students and schedule fun activities and a learning environment after school for the students. I relate well with students of all ages. I can’t wait to meet you and help you succeed!!

I really liked the way that you were teaching me. I didn’t understand the math at all the types you were teaching me because I’ve never seen it before but after you helped me with it and helped me understand it I understood it a lot more thank you so much for helping me.
